Rootstock Winter XC-Ski Residency
5 days of skiing, seeing, treeing and being and 1 day freeing
Rootstock is looking for an individual or couple who would like to come spend a week on our hillside working on maintaining and creating our XC ski trails and moving some firewood and snow around. Our beautiful open hard woods provide lots of space to explore and we’re looking to label existing trails, forge some new ones around the property, and draw a map of our work.
Ideally we’re seeking experienced back country skiers with some knowledge of tools, trail maintenance, map making and joy who want to work on this awesome task for the time they’re here. This means 5 days of skiing, seeing, treeing and being and 1 day freeing….
Residents are provided with a rustic trailer - The Toad - equipped with heat, a propane range, usb charged lights and full, basic board for their time with us. This means we’ve got sleeping and eating fully covered in exchange for your enthusiastic energy exchange. Residents will also be invited to fire up a rustic spa while they’re here to relax after a hard day of awesome.
Sneak Peek into the Week:
Day 1 - Arrive 6pm for dinner and introductions (community dinner)
Day 2 - Tour, Orientation, Strategy Meeting/Weekly Schedule , Work (community breakfast & lunch)
Day 3 - Work (community breakfast)
Day 4 - Work (community dinner)
Day 5 - Work (community breakfast, lunch)
Day 6 - Off
Day 7 - Refresh trailer, breakfast & debrief, departure at 12pm (community breakfast)
The Residencies are an experiment in property sharing, co-creation, conscious community and new paradigm business. We’re excited to welcome folks to our land that align with our mission and values and want to help build this beautiful bathhouse and sanctuary.
