In this month’s full moon chakra activation, we will enter the radiant realm of the manipura chakra, or “city of jewels,” the seat of transformation at every level. Activation of this chakra stokes the internal fires of digestion (jathara agni) and consciousness (bhuta agni), and opens to portals of empowerment as well as untangling of karmic knots.

We will discuss the cultural paradigms of over-achievement and diet culture that can dampen our internal fires, legacies of ancestral patterns, and delve into experiential practice to actively remove karmic entanglements. The yogic map of the energy body includes the chakra system, our inner pathways to healing and awakening. Underlying contemporary yoga, there is a rich tradition rooted in the ancient Tantric teachings of the subtle body.

Participants are invited to bring a yoga mat, towel or blanket for their comfort, wear comfortable clothing and bring offerings for the fire if they feel called.

Tina will weave the elements of philosophy, history, meditation, imagery, pranayama, mantra, mudra, and simple movement, focused on the svadisthana or sacral chakra. No experience necessary.

Tina Ghantous of Moonrise Yoga explores approaches to support one’s important work in the world through science and wisdom traditions. Knowing that there is not a one size fits all approach to health, inspired living, and longevity, she teaches yoga as an accessible path of empowerment, healing, and connection to the natural world. Her teaching style is trauma informed, and draws on precise alignment principles, philosophy, healing traditions, ecology, and her background in dance. Tina has been studying yoga for more than 25 years, and has been offering classes and workshops for eleven years in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. She is currently training in Somatic Experiencing as well as pursuing a masters degree in mental health, where she bridges the therapies of mind and body. She finds yoga to be an invaluable tool for surviving motherhood and long Vermont winters.
