Rooting down and tapping into deep support allows us to connect to strength and resilience, and become powerful conduits for intuition and vitality.
The yogic map of the energy body includes the chakra system, our inner pathways to healing and awakening. Underlying contemporary yoga, there is a rich tradition rooted in the ancient Tantric teachings of the subtle body. Take a deep dive into your sacred anatomy, and the movement of Kundalini Shakti (the universal creative goddess power of awakening). Through drums and percussion instruments we’ll ground down, tap in and activate.
Participants are invited to bring a drum or some percussion instruments for this gathering.
Tina will weave the elements of philosophy, history, meditation, imagery, pranayama, mantra, mudra, and simple movement, focused on the muladhara or root chakra, a doorway within that opens to deeper experiences of presence, grounding, vitality and wisdom. No experience necessary.
Bring water or tea, blanket or some warm layers, wear comfortable clothing, and please follow appropriate physical distancing.
Tina Ghantous of Moonrise Yoga explores approaches to support one’s important work in the world through science and wisdom traditions. Knowing that there is not a one size fits all approach to health, inspired living, and longevity, she teaches yoga as an accessible path of empowerment, healing, and connection to the natural world. Her teaching style is trauma informed, and draws on precise alignment principles, philosophy, healing traditions, ecology, and her background in dance. Tina has been studying yoga for more than 25 years, and has been offering classes and workshops for eleven years in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. She is currently training in Somatic Experiencing as well as pursuing a masters degree in mental health, where she bridges the therapies of mind and body. She finds yoga to be an invaluable tool for surviving motherhood and long Vermont winters.
