She’s done serving The Man and is now in service to her own creative destiny which is dedicated to cultivating the sacred place that is Rootstock Retreat and to the awakening and activation of other humans creative fire!

• The complexity of weaving concept, place and people into a safe and sturdy container is an art form and a new paradigm business. Access to Rootstock as a laboratory, classroom, venue and blank canvas for you to co-create with is a BFD.

• Selling ‘healing,’ ‘transformation,’ and ‘experience’ as a commodity requires deep integrity and creativity to value the exchange since healing and co-creation are always symbiotic. Retaining humility, prioritizing a win-win-win-win-win-win business model and valuing your own fulfillment and healing in the process is essential to truly high vibrational medicine and something born of practice.

• 24 Zoom Sessions (2 per month) plus a 36 hour group medicine retreat already exceeds a $5555 value and, as my Aunt Shelly would say, ‘Such a deal!’

This is an intensive program requiring dedicated and consistent participation and all potential apprentices will be screened to assure readiness and willingness for this work.  Sessions will be held via Zoom and the retreat will take place at Rootstock Retreat in West Glover, VT.   Program is limited to 4 destined and determined people.

~8-10 weeks between June and October will be available for residencies and Apprentices will select their weeks on a first come first serve basis upon acceptance to the program. Only one Apprentice will serve as Resident at a time. Other Apprentices feeling called to come and participate will be welcome to join as guests or Co-Creation Crew. Residencies are time to get closer to the Earth, grounding into your vision and yourself, and to consciously co-create (i.e. work hard in a team structure) and build Rootstock for 6 hours of each day of the residency.

1 day for arrival/departure/orientation. 4 days as scheduled by Beana.  1 day off.  1 day dedicated to a task of the Apprentices’ choosing within:

• Marketing & Communication (graphic/web design, social media, email marketing, …)

• Operations (infrastructure, internal systems, organization/cleaning, tutorials, …)

• Administration & Finance (schedule, correspondence, Quickbooks, budgets, …)

• Gardens & Grounds (gardens, landscaping, building projects, food preservation, beautification, …)

• Programming & Events (booking, event support, fundraising, development, …)

Because Rootstock both transcends conventional time and stretches it, workdays here do extend far beyond 6 hours.  Homesteads and dreams of a New World rarely sleep.  Apprentices are invited to use their ‘free time’ to maintain their wellness routines and practice self-care.  Folks with private practices and other employment are welcome to tend to their business as needed.  Exploration of the land, the neighborhood and surroundings is strongly encouraged and if, for whatever reason, the Apprentice chooses to work more than their required trade, they do so freely.

Accommodations & Amenities

Apprentices will stay in Rootstock’s “West Village” an off-grid development on the land here about 4 minutes walking from the main house. Outdoor plumbing. Cooking over fire and propane. Limited cell service and no internet. What?!?! No internet? Yes, you read that correctly. Well-appointed, comfortable, cozy accommodations will give you a soft place to land at the end of each work day and unplugged time to tap into the Source of your creative spirit. You’ll have access to electricity to charge your devices and time available in the cabin to internet but it will be sparing and you can expect a largely analog experience.

• Comfortable accommodations with bedding, cookware, utensils and essential staples like coffee, tea, honey, eggs, bread, oats, fruit, cheese and veggies will be provided. See below for more details on food at Rootstock.

• Periodic access to the shower, kitchen and internet in the main house will be provided to ensure your well-being while you’re here.

• Wood-fired hot tubs, cold garden tubs, an outdoor shower and beautiful outhouse will be available for the duration of your stay. Tubs, hot and cold, will be your responsibility to prepare and you’ll receive training early on in your Residency.

• Access to Rootstock’s other infrastructure - the masonry oven, Tipi Temple, and sacred spaces - are subject to availability but open to activation by Apprentices .

Apprentices can expect to interact with guests Air Bnb’ing in the Village, consults visiting, retreat participants, community members and neighbors, Co-Creation Crew volunteers and Temple Builders during their time at Rootstock and will be guided to hold space as Ambassadors of this place demonstrating presence, generosity of spirit, intuition and kindness over all.

Food and Meal Planning

We’ll co-create a weekly schedule prior to arrival (based on Rootstock’s calendar of events) and tend to it frequently to ensure clarity, flexibility and accountability for our time together.  Meals and meal preparation does not count towards your 6 work hours - we all gotta eat! - and will be divided between “family meals” and Apprentices nourishing themselves in their dwelling.  Staples for the week will be provided and can be organized prior to arrival.  Food is medicine at Rootstock and prepared with home grown items, organic, local and fair trade food only.  Apprentices will be asked to bring 1 bag of groceries with them to contribute to the meals for the week and can expect to participate in prep, cook, and clean-up of communal meals.

Guests and Visitors During Your Residency

Friends and guests are most certainly welcome and asked to 1) either Work-Trade or pay for their nights dwelling in your dwelling 2) contribute $5-25/meal/day for communal meals enjoyed together 3) supply their own sustenance for non-shared meal days 4) register ahead for any events, gatherings or ceremonies they plan to attend while on site and 5) request any desired cabin/internet/indoor plumbing access when planning the stay. 

Residencies are intense, exciting, creative and VERY FULL time. Exhausting and over-stimulating, spontaneous and surprising, the weather and the World play a significant role in the unfolding of this time. As most Residencies will coincide with Activation Portals or Retreat weeks, Apprentices can anticipate some of what will be needed based on the schedule of the week they’ll be here. Flexibility, kindness, patience and creativity are the core traits any Apprentice should plan to bring as well as a solid work-ethic, attention to detail, capacity to listen and receive feedback AND - most importantly - a desire to create beauty, comfort and healing.

Frequently Asked Questions

• If I’m local do I still need to Zoom or can we do those sessions in person? Apprentices are welcome and invited to come to Rootstock for our 90minute sessions!

• What if I want to build a business that uses Rootstock’s infrastructure? Will Beana or Rootstock take a cut? Rootstock’s overhead will always need to be paid and, yes, for any venue rentals or sustained collaborations Rootstock will charge something for access to its spaces. Depending on the role of Beana in that venture, she may also earn a share as well if you have built your concept relying on her marketing it, for example. The details and math and valuation and sharing of expenses are all the juicy meat within this Apprenticeship and will be the work we do together.

• Do Apprentices get a discount on accommodations or events? No. Apprentices may receive preferred booking of they want to come for an event or gathering and may also participate in a Work-Trade or Co-Crew role to subsidize a visit but, generally speaking, they will pay/donate for events that they aren’t scheduled to work.

• If my “IT” doesn’t come to fruition will I get a refund? No. You will get deep time, valuable transmissions, invaluable experience and unconditional love during this program. It’s worth is not tied to your own capacity to generate profit.

• Is the 36 hour retreat that’s included a Medicine Retreat? If you’d be best served by a medicine retreat, yes. If you’d be best served by a Business Retreat it can be that. If you’d be best served by a R’nR retreat then it will be that. By this stage of the program you will know Beana, Rootstock and Yourself well enough to call in whatever will serve you best.

• Can a guest(s) join my 36 hour retreat? Yes. If you’d like to invite friends or loved ones to share in your retreat experience they will be invited to pay a Friends & Family rate of -30% of the price of the desired retreat.

• Does Rootstock pay travel expenses for residencies? Airport transfers? It is the responsibility of the Apprentice to pay for their travel to and from Rootstock for the residencies though Beana will come scoop you up/drop you off from the airport if needed.
